Terms of Service
Last updated: September 7, 2026
Plain version: FirstFind finds listings and shows you its math. What you do with that information is your call, and the results are yours — good or bad. The rest of this page says the same thing more carefully.
What FirstFind is
FirstFind is a tool that watches eBay for listings matching rules you set, and alerts you when it finds one. It is an information service. It does not buy, sell, bid, or transact on your behalf, and it never will without you explicitly asking for that.
We are not eBay
FirstFind is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay Inc. eBay is a trademark of its owner and is used here only to describe what the service does. We participate in the eBay Partner Network, which is an affiliate program — it does not make us a part of eBay.
Alerts are information, not advice
Every number in an alert is an estimate produced from public listing data. The going rate is a calculation, not an appraisal. Listings can be mispriced, misdescribed, counterfeit, already sold, or removed between the scan and your click. Sellers can cancel. Items arrive damaged. FirstFind does not inspect, verify, or guarantee anything about a listing or a seller, and nothing it shows you is financial or business advice. Every purchase decision is yours, and so is the outcome.
Affiliate links and credit
Links in alerts may carry an affiliate code, meaning eBay pays us a commission if you buy — at no additional cost to you. We credit half of that commission back to your account. Commissions are reported and confirmed on eBay's schedule, not ours, and eBay can reverse one (for a return or a cancelled order, for example). If a commission is reversed, the matching credit is reversed too. Credit has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn — it applies to what you owe us.
Allowances, tokens, and pricing
Tokens are a unit of scan allowance, not currency and not property. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or redeemed, and unused ones do not carry over. FirstFind is in alpha, so free allowances and paid pricing may change as we learn what capacity we can actually sustain. If a change would reduce what you are paying for, we will tell you before it takes effect.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Resell, sublicense, or provide FirstFind's alerts as a service to others.
- Use automated means to scrape the site, or work around scan limits, rate limits, or account restrictions.
- Register many accounts to multiply free allowances.
- Interfere with the service, or attempt to access data that is not yours.
- Use FirstFind to break eBay's rules, or any law that applies to you.
Availability
FirstFind is alpha software. It will have downtime, bugs, missed listings, and late alerts. Scanning depends on eBay's API remaining available to us on terms we can work with — if that changes, the service changes. We do not promise any uptime, scan frequency, or that you will find any particular deal, and features may be added or removed.
No warranty
FirstFind is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any information it shows is accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, FirstFind is not liable for lost profits, lost opportunities, bad purchases, missed deals, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before it arose — which, on a free account, is zero.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using FirstFind at any time, and ask us to delete your data when you do. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service, or puts our eBay API access at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
Changes to these terms
These terms will change as FirstFind grows past its alpha. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and we will notify account holders of material changes. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
