Privacy Policy

FirstFind collects as little as it can get away with. Right now that is one thing: your email address, if you choose to give it to us. This page explains what happens to it.
What we collect
Two things, and only two:
- Your email address, when you submit it to join the alpha. Nothing else — no name, no address, no payment details. There are no accounts yet.
- Standard server logs, which our host records automatically when any site is visited: IP address, browser type, page requested, and time. These are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse.
Why we collect it
Your email is used for one purpose: to contact you about the FirstFind alpha — when it opens, and what changes while you are in it. If FirstFind later sends product email of any other kind, it will be something you opt into, and every message will carry an unsubscribe link.
What we do not do
To be specific, because these are the things people worry about:
- We do not sell your information. Not to anyone, for any price.
- We do not rent, trade, or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not run third-party analytics, ad pixels, or trackers on this site.
- We do not set cookies. The signup form works without them.
- We do not send marketing email on behalf of anyone else.
Who else can see it
Only the services needed to run FirstFind, and only for that purpose. Our web host stores the site and its database. When a signup arrives, a notification containing the email address is posted to our own private internal channel so we see it. When we begin sending alpha email, an email provider will process the address in order to deliver it. Each of these acts on our instructions and none of them are permitted to use your address for their own purposes.
eBay links
Links in FirstFind alerts carry an eBay Partner Network tracking code so eBay can attribute a purchase to us. Following one takes you to eBay, where eBay's own privacy policy and cookies apply — not ours. We receive commission reports from eBay that tell us a sale happened; they do not tell us who you are on eBay or what else you bought.
How long we keep it
Your email stays on the list until you ask us to remove it, or until the alpha program ends and the list is no longer needed — whichever comes first. Ask and it is deleted, without us asking you why. Server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.
Your choices
Email hello@firstfind.app and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live you may have a formal right to those things — under GDPR in the UK and EU, or the CCPA in California, among others. We honor those requests regardless of where you live, because with one email address on file there is no reason not to.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS and the signup list is not publicly accessible. That said, no system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever exposes your email address, we will tell you.
Children
FirstFind is meant for people running a resale business, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted an email address, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your email, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for anything significant, email the people on the list.
